"Stonebwoy is my little brother" – Shatta Wale says their beef should be celebrated, not condemned
Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has sparked fresh conversations about music industry rivalries after suggesting that artists should learn to celebrate their feuds rather than view them as purely negative.
Speaking during a visit to the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom ahead of his highly anticipated concert in August, the self-proclaimed Dancehall King shared his thoughts on how Ghana's music industry can continue to thrive despite disagreements among musicians.
According to Shatta Wale, rivalries and competition are natural parts of the entertainment business and should not be treated as issues that divide the industry.
"I feel sometimes we don't get the necessary support as musicians. Artistes can beef, but there should be a time when we celebrate the anniversary of the beef. Stonebwoy and I have a rivalry, but everywhere I go, I want people to know that Stonebwoy is my little brother. I love him so much," he said.
The award-winning musician stressed that what matters most is ensuring that peace prevails after disagreements, adding that competition often helps push artists to achieve greater success.
Shatta Wale also urged Stonebwoy's team and those around him to embrace a different perspective on industry feuds. He argued that rivalries can be transformed into opportunities capable of generating excitement among fans and creating major entertainment events.
"He has a team around him, and I believe they should also try to educate him about what we are doing. This whole agenda people have been talking about could even become a major shutdown event when people see that we are ready to make it happen," he added.
His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the long-standing rivalry between the two dancehall heavyweights, with Shatta Wale insisting that competition should be seen as a driving force for growth rather than a source of division within the music industry.
