We’ve been in touch” — Fella Makafui challenges Drogba’s version of events
Actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui has publicly reacted to claims by actor John Peasah, popularly known as Drogba, that she had not reached out to support him during his ongoing health challenges.
The issue gained attention after excerpts from an interview featuring Drogba were shared on TikTok by blogger The Village Blogger. In the interview, the actor suggested that some colleagues within the entertainment industry had not personally contacted him since he fell ill.
Responding in the comments section of the viral post, Fella Makafui expressed surprise at the claims and questioned whether the interview was a recent one.
“I hope this video is not new because that will be surprising. We’ve been communicating, for anyone asking,” she wrote.
Her response appears to challenge the impression that there has been no contact between the two actors, indicating that communication has taken place despite Drogba's remarks.
The development has sparked discussion among fans, particularly because both actors worked together on the popular Ghanaian television series YOLO, where they became familiar faces to audiences across the country.
How the Controversy Started
The exchange follows comments made by Drogba during an interview with Sammy Kay Media, streamed on the 29 May 2026,where he spoke about the support he has received since battling illness.
According to the actor, Fella Makafui did not initially reach out to him directly. He claimed that during the early stages of his condition, she contacted actor Jeffery Nortey to inquire about his well-being instead of speaking with him personally.
Drogba further stated that Jeffery Nortey was surprised by the inquiry because he believed Fella already had Drogba’s personal contact information. He recounted that Jeffery later connected the two, after which Fella reached out using a different phone number.
The actor also revealed that he had contacted several figures in the movie industry, including Salma Mumin, Kisa Gbekle and John Dumelo, among others, but claimed they had yet to offer him assistance.
