A/R: Barekesé water treatment plant resumes full production ahead of schedule after successful pipeline repairs
Residents of the Kumasi Metropolitan Area and surrounding communities have now received relief after Ghana Water Limited (GWL) successfully completed urgent repair works on the transmission pipeline at the Barekesé Water Treatment Plant.
According to a statement issued by the company, the repairs were fully completed at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, significantly ahead of the original schedule.
This timely intervention means production at the plant has resumed, and water supply to the affected areas is being restored.
Management of Ghana Water Limited praised the dedication and professionalism of its technical and operational teams, who worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure the repairs were executed swiftly and effectively.
In the press release, GWL expressed sincere appreciation to customers, stakeholders, and the general public for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout the repair period.
“The Management of Ghana Water Limited remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and sustainable water services to the people of the Ashanti Region,” the statement noted.
The company also assured the public that it will continue to implement proactive measures to improve service delivery across the region.
