Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused the government of losing its grip on governance, citing what he described as growing divisions among top officials within the administration.

Addressing Parliament during deliberations on the Finance Minister’s statement on the state of the economy and Ghana’s successful completion of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme, Mr Afenyo-Markin questioned the government’s claims of economic progress, arguing that internal disputes are undermining its credibility.

The Minority Leader referenced the recent public disagreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture over the disbursement of funds, describing the development as a sign of poor coordination at the highest levels of government.

According to him, the public exchange between the two ministries highlights internal tensions within the administration and raises concerns about its ability to effectively manage national affairs despite celebrating key economic milestones.
