The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Anloga, Ms. Sandra Seyram Kpedor has distributed fertilisers to 30 Farmer-Based Organisations (FBOs) registered with the Department of Agriculture of the Anloga District Assembly as part of efforts to support agricultural production in the district.

The distribution exercise, carried out in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, forms part of the government's commitment to improving farmers' access to essential agricultural inputs. 

The initiative is expected to increase crop yields, strengthen food production, and improve the livelihoods of farmers across the district.

Addressing the beneficiary groups, Ms. Kpedor said agriculture remains a key pillar of the local economy and assured farmers of the government's continued support through programmes and interventions aimed at enhancing productivity and ensuring sustainable food security.

She stated that the fertiliser distribution was intended to ease the burden on farmers by providing them with critical inputs needed to improve their farming activities during the cropping season. 

According to her, investing in agriculture is essential to promoting economic growth and ensuring a reliable food supply.

The DCE urged all the beneficiary farmer-based organisations to make judicious use of the fertiliser and ensure it is applied effectively to maximise productivity. 

She encouraged the farmers to remain committed to adopting good agricultural practices to achieve better harvests and contribute to the development of the district.

The beneficiary farmers expressed appreciation to the government and the Anloga District Assembly for the intervention, describing it as timely and beneficial. 

They pledged to put the fertiliser to good use to increase food production and support efforts to promote agricultural development and food security in the Anloga district.
