CMG Urges staff to showcase Ghanaian heritage as Ghana month begins
As Ghana marks the beginning of March 2026, the month traditionally celebrated as “Ghana Month,” Class Media Group(CMG) is urging its workers across the country to dedicate their programming to promoting national heritage and identity.
CMG in a statement, said March holds historic significance as the month in which Ghana attained independence under the leadership of Kwame Nkrumah in 1957.
The period has since evolved into a nationwide celebration of Ghanaian culture, history, and achievements.
In line with this, broadcasters and content producers have been urged to ensure that all programmes reflect Ghanaian values and heritage throughout the month.
On-air presenters, including news anchors, have been encouraged to dress in traditional Ghanaian attire to project cultural pride.
Suggested outfits include fugu, African prints, kaba and slit, pata pata styles, caftans, and the wearing of traditional cloth. The initiative is aimed at reinforcing a strong visual representation of Ghanaian identity on television and radio platforms.
Music selection across programmes is also expected to prioritise Ghanaian highlife, hiplife, gospel, and other indigenous genres to promote local artistry and creativity.
Social media teams have likewise been directed to align their visuals with the Ghana Month theme.
Designs featuring Osaagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah are to be used across general social media platforms, while a Black Star-themed design bearing the inscription “Ghana Unfiltered” has been designated for use by Class FM.
Additionally, producers of talk shows have been tasked to ensure that at least one discussion topic per programme highlights Ghanaian heritage, development, culture, or national unity.![]()
The call reinforces the enduring national motto: “One Ghana, One People, One Destiny,” underscoring the importance of unity and collective pride as the country commemorates its independence month.
