The Kwahu Afram Plains South District in the Eastern Region has received 28 new development projects following their commissioning by the District Chief Executive, Moses Tangmee, together with the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Joseph Appiah Boateng.

The projects comprise 14 major development projects, including CHPS compounds and classroom blocks, and 14 mechanised boreholes provided in various communities across the district.

The interventions are expected to improve access to basic healthcare, education and potable water, particularly for residents in underserved communities.

The CHPS compounds are expected to bring healthcare services closer to residents, while the classroom blocks will provide improved learning environments for pupils and teachers.

The 14 mechanised boreholes are also expected to help address water challenges in the district.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony at Tease, DCE Moses Tangmee noted that the projects reflected efforts to improve living conditions and address development needs in the Afram Plains.

“What we are commissioning today is not the end of development in this district. There are several other projects in the pipeline, and very soon, residents will see more interventions across the various communities,” he said.

He urged residents to take ownership of the facilities and ensure they were properly maintained.
