Energy Commission outlines simple path to electrical wiring certification
The Energy Commission of Ghana has highlighted a straightforward pathway for individuals seeking professional certification as electricians in the country.
According to the Commission, aspiring electricians do not necessarily need a university degree to obtain certification in electrical wiring.
Individuals who have acquired practical skills through apprenticeship programmes or technical and vocational training institutions are eligible to sit for the Electrical Wiring Certification Examination.
The Commission issued a notice on its Social Media platforms said the certification process involves three main stages: a written examination, an interview, and a practical assessment.
These steps are designed to evaluate candidates’ theoretical knowledge, professional competence, and practical ability in electrical wiring.
The Commission noted that the certification aims to ensure that only qualified and competent professionals undertake electrical installation works across the country, thereby improving safety standards and reducing the risks associated with poor wiring practices.
The Energy Commission of Ghana encourages individuals who have completed relevant training in electrical wiring to take advantage of the certification process and become recognised professional electricians in Ghana.
