Energy Minister holds stakeholder meeting with industrial power consumers

The John Abdulai Jinapor, Minister for Energy and Green Transition, has held a consultative meeting with bulk electricity users from Ghana’s manufacturing and industrial sectors to discuss challenges affecting power supply.

The engagement, aimed at strengthening dialogue between government and major power consumers, included officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), the Energy Commission, Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Bui Power Authority (BPA).

During the session, captains of industry raised concerns regarding electricity reliability, supply consistency, and related operational challenges affecting their businesses.

Minister Jinapor assured participants that the government is committed to addressing these issues collaboratively, emphasising the importance of stable power for a thriving industrial sector.

“A strong industrial sector requires dependable power, and we remain fully committed to delivering it,” he stated, reiterating the government’s readiness to ensure a reliable electricity supply to support business operations across the country.

 

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition to engage stakeholders directly and enhance service delivery in Ghana’s power sector.
