Foreign Affairs Ministry introduces 1-day passport delivery service
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced the introduction of a 1-Day Passport Delivery Service, marking a major milestone in Ghana’s ongoing passport reform programme.
According to a statement from the Ministry, the super-expedited service is designed to address urgent and emergency situations, such as discovering an expired passport while preparing to travel or facing a sudden medical emergency that requires immediate travel.
The new service, described as the first of its kind in Ghana, will officially take effect on Thursday, November 13, 2025. The Ministry emphasised that special charges will apply for applicants who choose the same-day delivery option.
It, however, reaffirmed that the existing GHS350 standard passport application fee remains unchanged and continues to guarantee applicants a convenient delivery within 15 days.
The Ministry underscored that the new initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing efficiency, accessibility, and public satisfaction in passport delivery services nationwide.
