Former IGP Paul Tawiah Quaye passes on at 73
Former Inspector-General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye, has reportedly passed away at the age of 73.
According to family sources, Mr Quaye died on Tuesday, April 22, 2026, after a prolonged period of ill health, which had kept him away from public life in recent years.
He served as Ghana’s Inspector-General of Police from 2009 to 2013, during which he oversaw key policing operations and reforms within the Ghana Police Service.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
