GRIDCo appoints Ing Frank Asirifi Otchere as new CEO
The Board of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has named Ing Frank Asirifi Otchere as the company’s new Chief Executive. The appointment was confirmed in a circular issued on May 8, 2026, signed by Board Chairlady Kuukua Maurice Ankrah.
The leadership restructuring includes the confirmation of Ing. Samuel Nkansah as Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Finance and Resources.
Additionally, Ing Samed Abdul Ibrahim, the current Director of the Project Implementation Unit, has been appointed Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Engineering and Operations.
These appointments, which took effect immediately on May 8, come as GRIDCo works to stabilise the national power supply. The company recently addressed operational disruptions caused by a fire at the Akosombo switchyard control room.
The board has called on all staff members to provide the new executive team with the necessary support and cooperation to fulfill their mandates.
