Ga Mantse welcomes fellows of African-European Shaping Futures Academy to the Ga state
His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse, has hosted fellows of the Shaping Futures: African-European Network on Development and Sustainability (Shaping Futures Academy) at the Ga Mantse’s Palace in Accra.
The visit formed part of a broader engagement under the programme’s Leadership, Citizenship, and Democracy module.
The Shaping Futures Academy is a dialogue and training initiative jointly organised by the German Institute for Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana).
The programme targets early to mid-career professionals from Africa and Europe, equipping them with knowledge, skills, and strategies to drive transformative change and sustainable development within their communities and institutions.
The diverse cohort of Fellows includes participants from Ghana, Zambia, Togo, Germany, Morocco, Tunisia, and the Netherlands, representing various professional fields such as law, economics, and immigration services.
During the courtesy call, the Fellows held a lively exchange with King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II on the intersections of traditional leadership, governance, and civic responsibility.
His Majesty underscored the importance of traditional authorities as custodians of culture and key partners in promoting peace, democracy, and sustainable development in Ghana, particularly within the Greater Accra Region.
The dialogue provided participants with a deeper appreciation of how traditional governance systems complement modern state structures in addressing developmental challenges and strengthening social cohesion.
The Shaping Futures Fellowship, supported by the Federal Government of Germany, continues to foster cross-continental collaboration and leadership capacity-building among emerging African and European leaders, positioning them to influence sustainable policy and institutional transformation in their respective countries.
