Ghana emerges as 4th freest country in Africa and 46th in the World
Ghana has earned significant global recognition after being ranked the 4th freest country in Africa and 46th worldwide out of 164 countries in the newly released Freedom and Prosperity Index by the Atlantic Council’s Freedom and Prosperity Center.
The West African nation recorded a solid score of 73.2 points, placing it in the “Moderate Freedom” category.
Only Seychelles, Cape Verde, and Mauritius performed better than Ghana on the continent.
Impressively, Ghana ranked ahead of notable African nations including South Africa and Senegal.
The index measures freedom through three main areas: political rights, economic liberty, and the rule of law.
It also evaluates prosperity based on factors such as income, healthcare, education, income inequality, minority rights, and environmental sustainability.
This latest ranking highlights Ghana’s relatively strong democratic credentials and progressive governance compared to many other countries across Africa.
The achievement is being widely celebrated as a positive reflection of the country’s ongoing commitment to freedom and good governance.
