A committee established by the Chief of Staff to examine the revocation of recruitments, appointments and promotions made into the Public Service after the December 7 elections has completed its work and released its findings.

According to the committee’s report, a total of 2,080 individuals were affected by the directive ordering a review of appointments and promotions made during the period under consideration.

Out of this number, 1,201 appointments were upheld after the committee determined that they complied with the required due process.

However, 541 appointments were revoked on the grounds that they failed to meet established procedural requirements.

The committee also upheld the appointments of 338 Persons With Disability, recognising their compliance with due process and reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusivity within the Public Service.

The review was initiated to ensure transparency, fairness and adherence to laid-down procedures in public sector recruitment and promotions following the elections
