Interior Minister calls for unity among Muslims after meeting with Ahlus-Sunnah leaders

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has received a delegation from the Ahlus-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah Muslim community at his office in Accra, urging Muslims across Ghana to uphold unity and peace.

The delegation, led by the Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Kamil Mohammed, paid a courtesy call to convey goodwill messages and best wishes to mark the end of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasised the importance of unity within the Muslim community, noting that the teachings of Islam promote peace, tolerance, and mutual respect.

He urged Muslims to be guided by the principles of the Prophet Muhammad, particularly in fostering harmony and constructive dialogue in addressing community concerns.

Mr. Muntaka reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining peace, security, and stability across the country, while extending Eid Mubarak wishes to the Muslim community.

Members of the delegation expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the Ministry’s efforts in ensuring national security.

They also pledged their continued support for national development.

 

The meeting highlighted ongoing collaboration between religious leaders and the government in promoting social cohesion and national stability.
