The Ministry of Defence has taken delivery of new vehicles aimed at improving staff mobility and operational efficiency, fulfilling a longstanding commitment made by the late Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah.

At a brief handover ceremony, two buses, four pick-up vehicles, and two motorbikes were presented to the Chief Director of the Ministry on behalf of the Acting Defence Minister, Mr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

The vehicles are intended to address transportation challenges faced by the general staff of the Ministry and to strengthen their capacity to carry out official duties.

The commitment dates back to Dr. Omane Boamah’s first general staff meeting as Minister, where he pledged to resolve mobility constraints affecting staff.

The fulfilment of that promise has been described as a demonstration of leadership continuity and service within the Ministry.

Officials noted that the additional vehicles will ease movement, enhance efficiency, and support the Ministry’s mandate.

The handover also served as a moment to reflect on the late Minister’s legacy and to reaffirm a collective responsibility to build on the foundations he laid for institutional progress.
