The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has forecast mostly cloudy conditions across the country today, Wednesday, July 29, with rain and thunderstorms expected in several parts of the country.

According to the weather outlook, thunderstorms accompanied by rain will persist over the western parts of the northern sector and sections of the transition belt during the morning hours. 

Slight rain is also expected along parts of the coast and in some inland communities through the morning and afternoon.

The agency said patches of mist are likely to develop over the country's forest and mountainous areas during the early hours of the day, potentially reducing visibility for motorists and commuters.

In the southern and coastal sectors, light rain is expected over communities including Aflao, Anloga, Accra, Kasoa, Winneba, Cape Coast, Takoradi and Axim. Misty conditions are also forecast for Ho, Koforidua, Akim Oda, Kwahu Tafo, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa and Sefwi Bekwai, while Kete Krachi could experience rainfall. 

Atebubu is expected to remain mostly cloudy.

For the middle and northern sectors, mist is anticipated around Ejura with rain expected in Kintampo, Sunyani and Sampa. 

Thunderstorms with rain are likely to affect Bole, Damongo, Wa and Jirapa, while Yendi, Tamale, Bolgatanga and Nalerigu are expected to experience mostly cloudy conditions. 

Some of these northern communities could also see sunny intervals later in the day.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has advised the public to remain alert to changing weather conditions, particularly in areas expected to experience thunderstorms and reduced visibility.
