Reacting to the matter, the Vice President assured Ghanaians that she has been closely monitoring the developments at home.

"You know, these days, even though you are away, you cannot be so far away, because you have your eyes on what is happening all around you, especially what is happening at home. We have all followed what is going on in our country regarding the case of sexual assault. And I want all of you to be aware that I followed this even when we were away, and I have received some reactions."

The Vice President disclosed that she has taken note of all official responses so far.

"I have seen what the party did regarding this gentleman who wanted to run on our ticket. I've seen the letter that was written by our Secretary General. I've also heard the response from the Minister for the Interior at the PAC meeting, I think yesterday."

She described the matter as one of grave national concern that affects both present and future lives.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang concluded with a firm call for due process and rule of law.

"What I want to say is that we all allow the law to take its course because this is a very serious matter, especially as it affects the lives of people, not only in the present, but also going to the future. So, let's allow the law to take its course."
