Otoo family officially announces passing of Former AMA Coordinating Director to Accra MCE

The family of the late Mr. Benjamin Ayikwei Armah, a former Coordinating Director of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), has formally informed the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Michael Kpakpo Allotey, of his passing.
An 11-member delegation from the Otoo family, led by the Principal Elder, paid a courtesy call on the MCE at the Accra City Hall on Wednesday to officially convey the sad news.
Mr. Armah served as Coordinating Director of the AMA from 2019 to 2022, during which he was widely regarded as a dedicated and principled public servant.
Receiving the delegation, MCE Allotey expressed profound sorrow over the loss, paying tribute to Mr. Armah’s integrity, professionalism, and personal friendship.
“He was more than a colleague—he was a trusted friend,” the MCE said.
“He supported me wholeheartedly during my vetting for this position and never hesitated to offer help without expecting anything in return.
His passing is a great personal and institutional loss.”
The MCE extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of the Assembly’s support during this difficult time.
