Parliament of Ghana announces details for 2026 State of the Nation Address
President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver the 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA) before Parliament tomorrow, Friday, February 27, 2026.
According to an official notice released by Parliament, the address will take place at 10 AM in the Chamber of Parliament at Parliament House Accra, where the President is expected to outline the government’s assessment of the country’s current state and present policy priorities for the year ahead.
The State of the Nation Address is a constitutional requirement that provides the president with a platform to brief lawmakers and the public on economic performance, governance, and key national development initiatives. It also offers direction on government programmes and legislative focus areas.
This year’s address comes at a time when attention remains fixed on economic recovery, infrastructure expansion, and social interventions, with many stakeholders anticipating updates on reforms and strategies to drive growth and stability.
Members of Parliament (MPs), government officials, diplomatic representatives, and invited guests are expected to attend the session, which will also be broadcast nationwide.
