Police foil robbery attempt at GCB Bank branch in Labone; two suspects killed
The Ghana Police Service says it has stopped an attempted robbery at a GCB Bank branch at Labone in Accra.
The incident occurred on Thursday, August 13, 2026, when police officers responded to the robbery attempt at the bank.
According to the Police, two of the suspected robbers were shot dead during the operation, while another suspect was arrested.
In a brief statement, the Service said investigations were ongoing and that additional information, including the identities of those involved and details of the incident, would be made public as soon as they become available.
The Police have not yet provided further details on what led to the attempted robbery or whether any money or property was taken from the bank.
