The founder and leader of Christ Power for All Nations, Prophet Bright Brampa has kicked against the proposed use of the Ho Sports Stadium as the venue for the upcoming Momofest concert.

According to the prophet, the Ho Sports Stadium should be preserved primarily as a sporting facility rather than being used for entertainment activities that could potentially damage the facility.

Prophet Brampa said the stadium was the only major sporting facility of its kind in the Volta Regional capital and should therefore be protected from activities that could compromise its condition.

He expressed concern that allowing the concert to take place at the stadium could result in damage to the playing field and other facilities, warning that such a situation could eventually lead to the facility being taken out of use.

“We cannot destroy the stadium. It is the only stadium we have, and we must protect it for future generations,” Prophet Brampa stated.

He instead called on the organisers of Momofest to consider using the Youth Resource Centre which, he said, could provide a more appropriate alternative venue for the entertainment event.

Prophet Brampa further appealed to the relevant authorities and stakeholders to carefully consider the long-term importance of the Ho Sports Stadium and avoid using the facility for activities that could undermine its sporting purpose.

Speaking on the Adanu morning show on Ho 92.5 FM with Togbui Ahorgo 1, the administrator of the National Sports Authority, Madam Jennifer Kokumah said, she has directed the organizers of the event “MTN" to the Ho municipal assembly and the traditional leaders on their approval .

“The event organisers came to us  earlier that, they want to do a MoMofest at the Ho sports stadium which I asked them to go and seek approval from the traditional leaders and the municipal Assembly . Days after ,they came again that, on the last day of the event which is 3rd October Saturday, Shattawale will come to climax the event which was not part of their earlier arrangement ." She explained .

According to her, the National Sports Authority did not approve of renting out the stadium for musical event as it involves the use  of the pitch .

“The staff here suffer always to keep the pitch ready for use for all football activities and allowing musical machines to be used on it will damage the pitch and my workers will continue to suffer to work on it though our number is just few as workers," she lamented.

Madam Kokumah appealed to the residents and institutions in Ho to support them and acknowledge the efforts they put in to keep the place good for use.

“We want the residents of Ho to see the pain and struggles we go through to keep the stadium clean and ready for use and they must support the National Sports Authority.”

The secretary of the Asorgli traditional council, Stephen Tettey, also said: "We at Asogli State love football and entertainment. But we cannot say we love entertainment [Shatta Fest] and allow them to destroy the pitch of the Ho Sports Stadium, because that edifice is the only one we have. We still stress that we know nothing about the event, and the organizers of Shatta Fest never came to us."
