TDC Managing Director sues Kweku Baako Media over alleged defamation

The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Mr Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, has filed a defamation suit against Kweku Baako Media Limited, the Editor-in-Chief of The New Crusading Guide, M’Ideas Group, and journalist Roger A. Agana over publications he claims were damaging to his reputation.
Filed on September 10, 2025, the writ seeks to restrain the defendants, their agents, or assigns from publishing or causing the publication of further defamatory material against him.
Mr. Nunekpeku is demanding general, aggravated, and/or exemplary damages, as well as a perpetual injunction.
He is also requesting an order compelling the defendants to publish an unqualified apology and retraction with equal prominence in The New Crusading Guide newspaper and on the websites thenewcrusadingguideonline.com and newsghana.com.gh.
Additionally, the TDC boss is seeking legal costs, including solicitor’s fees, and any other relief the court deems appropriate.
The case arises from media reports alleging that Mr. Nunekpeku was involved in a land-grabbing scandal, claims he vehemently denies.
The legal action, filed by Samora Cann, Esq. of Machel Stanley Corporate & Commercial Lawyers, directs the defendants to enter an appearance within eight days of being served or risk judgment in default.
