The Volta Regional Office of the Lands Commission has commissioned a new Client Service Access Unit (CSAU) and deployed the Enterprise Land Information System (ELIS), a major step in the digital transformation of land administration in the region.

The initiative, launched at a ceremony in Ho, forms part of the Lands Commission's nationwide efforts to modernise land administration, improve transparency and enhance service delivery through technology-driven solutions.

Speaking at the event, National Chairman of the Lands Commission, Dr. Wordsworth Odame-Larbi, described the deployment of ELIS as a significant milestone that will transform the delivery of land administration services across the country.

He said the Commission could no longer depend on manual processes at a time when digital technology is improving efficiency, accountability and service delivery across public institutions.

Dr. Odame-Larbi encouraged staff to embrace the new system and commit to learning and adapting to the technological changes that come with the digitalisation process. He stressed the importance of accuracy in data entry, noting that mistakes entered into the system could remain part of official records for years.

He also highlighted the importance of the newly established Client Service Access Unit, describing it as the public face of the Lands Commission and the first point of contact for clients seeking services.

The Chairman urged personnel assigned to the unit to demonstrate professionalism, patience and commitment in their interactions with clients, stressing that public confidence in the Commission would largely depend on the quality of service delivered at the front desk.

“We are not going back to the old system. Once ELIS is deployed, notebooks and manual records must give way to digital operations. Every staff member must be prepared to learn and be part of this transformation,” he stated.

The deployment of ELIS is expected to improve records management, reduce delays and enhance public access to land administration services in the Volta Region.
