The Vice President of Ghana, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has joined members of the Methodist Church of Ghana at the Bethany Methodist Church Society in the Dzorwulu Circuit to celebrate the church’s 40th anniversary.
The event, which featured a commemorative thanksgiving service, brought together church members, clergy and well-wishers to reflect on the growth and impact of the Bethany Society over the past four decades.
Addressing the congregation, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang described the milestone as a testament to the dedication, faith and commitment of the founding members who laid the foundation for the Society.
She noted that the journey of the Bethany Society reflects the enduring power of service and fellowship, adding that the church has, over the years, served as a place where faith is nurtured and lasting relationships are built.
The Vice President also acknowledged the role the church has played in supporting education, youth development and community life in the Dzorwulu area.
She commended the Methodist Church for its longstanding tradition of combining faith with education to shape individuals who serve society with integrity and purpose.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasised that nurturing strong values, strengthening families and guiding young people remain essential to building resilient communities and a strong nation.
According to her, institutions such as the church continue to play an important role in instilling the moral foundations needed to drive meaningful change in society.
