Vice President intercating with the UN delegation

Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has held talks with the leadership of the United Nations in Ghana, led by the UN Resident Coordinator, Mr. Zia Choudhury, to strengthen collaboration on Ghana’s development agenda.

During the meeting, the UN delegation expressed its readiness to support government efforts, including partnering on the proposed Women’s Bank initiative.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang commended the UN for its continuous support, stressing that the ultimate purpose of leadership is to “deliver justice for those who have fallen through the cracks.”

She emphasised the need to enhance financial inclusion, create opportunities for all citizens to realise their potential, and ensure that government policies translate into tangible improvements in people’s lives.

The Vice President further underscored the importance of tailored solutions that address specific challenges rather than broad approaches that may not adequately serve vulnerable groups.

She also called for partnerships that make effective use of data at every stage of policy formulation and implementation.

The meeting, she noted, reaffirmed the strong collaboration between Ghana and the United Nations in working towards inclusive development, social justice, and improved livelihoods for citizens.
