Volta Regional Minister commends ICAG at 2026 Accountants Conference
The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has commended the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) for its sustained efforts in promoting ethical leadership and maintaining high professional standards within the accounting profession.
He made the remarks at the 2026 Accountants Conference held at Mawuli Senior High School in Ho, under the theme: “Building Strong and Sustainable Economies: Standards, Integrity and Accountability.”
Mr. Gunu noted that accountants play a central role in strengthening governance systems, enhancing transparency, and ensuring accountability across both public and private sector institutions.
He stressed that their contribution is vital to sustaining investor confidence and driving national development.
He further praised ICAG for consistently producing competent professionals who continue to support Ghana’s economic transformation through sound financial management and ethical practice.
According to him, the Volta Region is steadily positioning itself as a hub for investment, tourism, agriculture, and industrial development, adding that strong financial systems and accountable institutions are key to achieving that vision.
Speaking on the importance of professional integrity, the Minister urged accountants to uphold the highest ethical standards in the discharge of their duties, noting that such discipline is essential for sustainable economic growth and regional development.
