The Accra High Court hearing the case involving businessman and politician Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as  Wontumi, and others in connection with an alleged EXIM Bank loan case has adjourned the matter to October 13, 2026.

Lawyer Joshua Sackey, who represented the prosecution, informed the court that the prosecution had filed a new charge sheet on September 22, 2026 and served copies on counsel for the accused persons.

He said the prosecution was seeking to withdraw the earlier charge sheet filed on May 15, 2026, and substitute it with the new charge sheet filed on September 22.

According to Lawyer Joshua Sackey, the substitution would enable the accused persons to have their pleas taken at the next adjourned date.

However,  Lawyer Nana Nti Ofori-Debrah, holding brief for lead counsel for Samuel Atta Akyea, counsel for the first and third accused persons, told the court that he had only just received the new charge sheet and was yet to peruse its contents and discuss it with the substantive counsel.

He prayed the court to defer both the substitution of the charge sheet and the taking of the accused persons’ pleas to the next adjourned date.

The court subsequently adjourned the case to October 13, 2026.
