Pragya rider jailed 20 years for defiling 12-year-old girl and infecting her with HIV
An Odumase Krobo Circuit Court has sentenced a 36-year-old auto-rickshaw (Pragya) rider, Joseph Nyarko, to 20 years' imprisonment for defiling a 12-year-old girl in Somanya in the Eastern Region.
Nyarko was convicted after the court found him guilty of the offence. According to reports, the victim contracted HIV following the abuse.
The court sentenced the 36-year-old to 20 years in prison.
No further details of the prosecution's case or the court's reasoning were immediately available.
