CP-King of Glory International School has marked its 10th anniversary with a colourful graduation ceremony, celebrating a decade of growth while renewing its commitment to academic excellence, character formation and quality education.

The anniversary and graduation ceremony brought together school management, teachers, parents, past and present students and other stakeholders to reflect on the institution’s journey and achievements since its establishment.

From a modest beginning with just 12 pupils and two classrooms, the school has over the past decade expanded into a growing educational community with more than 300 learners.

The celebration featured colourful performances by the pupils, while graduating students were presented with certificates to mark an important milestone in their academic journey.

The school says its growth has been anchored on a deliberate effort to combine academic excellence with character development, with its students recording commendable performances in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) over the years.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Headmistress of CP-King of Glory International School, Madam Patience Thelma Akpeloo, said the school’s journey over the past decade had not been without challenges, particularly due to limited resources.

She, however, said the difficulties had not derailed the institution from its core responsibility of nurturing and educating children.

“The years have been challenging with limited resources, but through it all, we have remained committed to the upbringing and education of our children.”

Madam Akpeloo said the school’s next phase of development would focus on improving its facilities and integrating more technology into teaching and learning.

She explained that the institution’s vision goes beyond producing students who excel academically, stressing the need to raise responsible and passionate citizens capable of contributing positively to society.

“Going forward, our vision is to get better facilities, introduce more technology into the classroom and raise students who are not just academically sound, but passionate and responsible citizens.”

PTA pledges support

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman, Paul Kavia, who works at the Office of the Presidency, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting the school’s development.

He said the PTA would engage its members and other stakeholders to identify practical ways of supporting the institution, particularly in the provision of teaching and learning materials.

According to him, the association would also explore avenues to support students from less-privileged backgrounds to ensure that financial difficulties do not prevent deserving children from accessing quality education.

Mr Kavia said the PTA viewed the school’s progress as a shared responsibility and urged parents and stakeholders to contribute to its continued development.

Diaspora partnership support

Also speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Michael Antonio Rodriguez congratulated the school on reaching the 10-year milestone and wished the institution greater achievements in the years ahead.

He pledged to help establish links between the school and potential partners in the diaspora as part of efforts to open up new opportunities for the institution.

The proposed partnerships, he said, could help the school access additional support and resources to strengthen its educational programmes and infrastructure.

As CP-King of Glory International School enters its second decade, management says its focus will be on consolidating the gains made over the past ten years while investing in facilities, technology and the holistic development of its learners.

The 10th anniversary celebration therefore served not only as a moment to celebrate the school’s journey from 12 pupils to more than 300 learners, but also as a renewed commitment to preparing a generation of academically competent, responsible and socially conscious Ghanaian children.
