Edem Kpotosu donates legislative materials to Volta Regional Library
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, Edem Kpotosu, has donated a collection of legislative and parliamentary materials to the Volta Regional Library in a move aimed at improving public access to legal information and strengthening civic engagement.
The presentation, held under the theme “Bridging the Gap Between the Lawmakers and the Users of Law,” sought to make parliamentary resources more accessible to students, legal practitioners, and the general public, while encouraging greater participation in governance.
Speaking at the event, the MP described the initiative as part of efforts to bring the work of the Parliament of Ghana closer to constituents.
He urged lawyers, students and residents to take full advantage of the materials to deepen their understanding of the law and legislative processes.
The Volta and Oti Regional Secretary of the Ghana Bar Association, Andrews Adugu, welcomed the gesture, describing it as highly significant and noting that it is the first initiative of its kind in the country.
Also addressing the gathering, the Volta Regional Director of the Ghana Library Authority, Bright Ofori, expressed appreciation to the MP for the support.
He appealed for assistance to complete the regional library facility and called for the materials to be adapted into accessible formats to benefit visually impaired users.
The donation is expected to enhance legal literacy and provide valuable resources for research and education within the region.
