Ablakwa opens major education infrastructure project in North Tongu
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region, Samuel Okudzeto- Ablakwa, has opened a major school infrastructure project aimed at improving teaching and learning in the district.
The project, located at Aveyime Battor Secondary Technical School, includes a 250-capacity classroom block, staff offices, eight-unit teachers’ bungalows, a mechanised water system, and a mosque.
It forms part of efforts to address infrastructure deficits and improve educational delivery in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ablakwa commended Qatar Charity for partnering on the initiative, describing the project as one that promotes both academic excellence and moral development.
He further announced that the first eight teachers to occupy the newly constructed bungalows will be exempted from paying rent, as an incentive to attract and retain staff in the area.
The MP reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the constituency through continued investment in education, healthcare, and other key social infrastructure.
The Country Director of Qatar Charity, Ali Dauda, expressed gratitude to the local community for their support and praised the MP for his dedication to development.
He noted that Qatar Charity remains committed to supporting education initiatives in Ghana and urged proper maintenance of the facility to attract further development projects to the area.
