The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has called on Ghanaians to uphold sacrifice, integrity and collective responsibility as key drivers of national development.
Delivering a message on Easter Sunday, the Minister worshipped with congregations in the Sakumono and La areas of the Church of Pentecost, where he emphasised unity, renewal and patriotism.
Drawing inspiration from the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Mr Ibrahim urged citizens to place national interest above personal gain, noting that Ghana’s progress depends on a shared commitment to the common good.
“Ghana’s development depends on our willingness to sacrifice for the collective good,” he stated.
He encouraged the youth to adopt a mindset of patriotism and innovation, positioning themselves as key contributors to national transformation.
He also stressed the importance of empowering women, describing their advancement as essential to sustainable development.
The Minister further called on both leaders and citizens to uphold truth, loyalty and justice, highlighting ethical leadership and responsible citizenship as critical to the country’s growth.
He also advocated stronger collaboration between the state and religious institutions, acknowledging the role of the Church in promoting values and supporting national development.
Church leaders, including Apostle Nana Yaw Adjei and Apostle Dr Dieudonne Nuekpe, welcomed the Minister’s visit and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting national development through prayer and moral guidance.
Congregants offered prayers for the nation, its leadership and future, seeking peace, wisdom and prosperity.
Mr Ibrahim expressed appreciation for the Church’s continued support, noting that spiritual backing remains vital to Ghana’s development, and called on all citizens to work together towards a peaceful and prosperous nation.
