GES assures placement of all qualified BECE candidates into SHTS
In a statement dated May 14, 2026, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations for the GES, management congratulated all Junior High School graduates on the successful completion of the BECE.
According to the statement, comprehensive preparations and arrangements have been made to receive all freshers into Senior High and Technical Schools nationwide on September 18, 2026.
The GES stated that every effort has been made to ensure that each qualified student has access to senior high and technical education.
The service also dismissed reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that about 72,000 students risk not being placed in schools, describing the claims as speculative and not reflective of reality.
According to the statement, there are adequate infrastructure and facilities available to accommodate all qualified students.
The GES further assured stakeholders that ongoing efforts to phase out the double-track system would not hinder access to senior high and technical education.
It explained that the move is intended to improve the quality of teaching and learning while maintaining full access for all students.
The Ghana Education Service reaffirmed its commitment to equitable, inclusive, and quality education for every Ghanaian child and called on stakeholders to support the national objective.
