Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has paid tribute to mothers across Ghana and around the world in a Mother’s Day message shared on Facebook.

In her statement, Prof Opoku-Agyemang recognised the strength, sacrifice, wisdom, and unconditional love of mothers, noting their vital role in supporting families, communities, and economies.

According to her, programmes such as the 24-hour markets initiative and the Women’s Development Bank are intended to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for women.

She added that government is also investing in skills training, apprenticeship programmes, access to finance, and the nationwide provision of free sanitary pads for schoolgirls.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang further acknowledged mothers, grandmothers, guardians, and women who play maternal roles in the lives of others.

“Your love and service do not go unnoticed,” she said.

She concluded the message by wishing mothers a happy Mother’s Day and praying for God’s blessings and strength for them.
