Gov’t to finish 30 stalled Community Day SHSs, roll out new school projects – Majority Leader
Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has announced far-reaching social and infrastructure plans the government is set to implement in 2026, projecting the year as a turning point for national development.
Addressing Parliament on February 3, Mr Ayariga said the administration aims to convert recent economic gains into real benefits for citizens through focused spending in key sectors, including education, health, housing and social protection.
He revealed that within the education space, government intends to resume and complete work on 30 Community Day Senior High Schools that were left unfinished. In addition, the state plans to put up 200 junior high schools, 200 primary schools and 200 kindergartens with support from the GETFund.
He added that further resources will be channelled into improving learning conditions through the provision of teachers’ accommodation, better sanitation infrastructure, as well as the supply of textbooks and classroom furniture.
