The Academic Board of the University of Ghana(UG) has published the names of students who have been sanctioned for various examination malpractices, in line with a directive that disciplinary decisions be made public.

The sanctioned students were found to have engaged in offences including possession and use of unauthorised materials during examinations, in violation of the University’s examination regulations.

In one case, a student identified as Abun Danielle Kyauta was penalised for possessing written notes and copying from them during the ECON 311: Microeconomics examination, contrary to Regulations 10.5 and 11.2 of the University’s examination rules.

Similarly, Wesley Shem Tei was also sanctioned for similar misconduct during the SENG 301: Numerical Methods examination.

Both students were awarded Grade Z for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

According to the University’s grading system, Grade Z represents failure in the entire semester’s examination, while Grade X denotes a failed grade.

The University reminded students to adhere strictly to examination regulations and conduct themselves in a manner befitting members of the academic community.

It also noted that students affected by the sanctions who may require emotional or psychological support could contact the University of Ghana Careers and Counselling Directorate for assistance.

The notice was issued by the Registrar, Emelia Agyei-Mensah (Mrs.), and circulated to all staff and students of the University, including senior management and academic heads was dated May 11, 2026.
