The Ministry of Transport has commenced the 2026 Transport Sector Strategic Review Retreat at Ho in the Volta Region as part of efforts to assess the performance of the sector and chart a path toward a more efficient and integrated transport system in Ghana.

The retreat brought together key stakeholders and sector leaders to evaluate progress made across the transport industry, identify major operational challenges, and discuss policy measures aimed at improving service delivery nationwide.

According to the ministry, the strategic gathering is intended to serve as a platform for reviewing existing transport policies and strengthening coordination across the various subsectors, including road, rail, aviation, and maritime transport.

Participants led Joseph Bukari Nipke and her Deputy Dorcas Affo-Toffey are also expected to deliberate on strategies to enhance safety, efficiency, infrastructure development, and regulatory reforms within the sector.
