WAEC warns public against fraudsters claiming to upgrade 2026 BECE results
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has cautioned candidates and the general public against individuals who claim they can upgrade the results of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for a fee.
The warning follows the release of the provisional results of the examination.
In a statement, WAEC stressed that its results database is secure and that all results can be authenticated.
The council urged the public to disregard anyone promising to alter or upgrade candidates' scores in exchange for money.
WAEC advised candidates to access their results only through its approved channels and not to fall victim to fraudsters exploiting the release of the examination results.
The council reiterated that any claims of being able to change or upgrade BECE results are false.
