Dr. Richard Asiedu appointed President-General of Eminent West Africa Nobles Forum
The Eminent West Africa Nobles Forum (E-WANF), a sub-regional think tank, has appointed renowned educationist, businessman and politician, Dr. Richard Asiedu, as its new President-General.
Dr. Asiedu, who previously served as Vice-President of the Forum, takes over the mantle of leadership from Nana (Dr.) Appiagyei Dankawoso I, the immediate past President-General.
His appointment is expected to usher in a new phase of strategic leadership for the Forum, which is modelled after the Philosophical Society of America and is dedicated to advancing policy ideas and solutions to challenges facing West Africa.
Widely respected for his contributions to nation-building, Dr. Asiedu is known for his strong commitment to mentorship, youth development and community upliftment.
Since joining the Forum in 2016, he has received both local and international honours and has represented Ghana and the sub-region at several global seminars and conferences, with extensive research experience in business and finance.
He currently serves as Board Chairman of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Development Corporation (GIISDC).
Beyond public service, Dr. Asiedu is the Chief Executive Officer of the St. Andrews Group of Schools and Companies, which includes a College of Healthcare and the Rich Multimedia Institute.
Through these institutions, he has trained thousands of young people, equipping them with practical skills for national development.
Over the years, he has invested millions of Cedis into educational infrastructure, particularly in rural communities, aimed at expanding access to quality education and strengthening the country’s human resource base.
As part of efforts to promote higher education, Dr. Asiedu has secured affiliation with the University of Cape Coast and is in the final stages of obtaining approval to establish the Mount Hebron University College of Health and Allied Sciences.
He also operates several businesses, including Nakata Travel and Tours, Kings Forex Bureau, and St. Andrews Transport and Haulage Services, creating employment opportunities for many young people.
Dr. Asiedu holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Resource Management from Atlantic International University in the United States, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from the University of Cape Coast.
The Eminent West Africa Nobles Forum, which has a membership of over 3,000, brings together statesmen, legal luminaries, technocrats, professionals, captains of industry, clergy, and business leaders.
The group meets annually to deliberate and propose solutions to socio-economic and governance challenges confronting West Africa and the broader African continent.
With Dr. Asiedu at the helm, the Forum is expected to deepen its influence and strengthen its advocacy for sustainable development across the region.
