Ghana Education Service to recruit nearly 20,000 teachers in major hiring drive
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a massive recruitment exercise to hire 19,725 trained teachers, addressing a significant backlog and bolstering the educational workforce.
In a public announcement issued on Monday, November 10, 2025, the GES disclosed that it has received the crucial financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance to proceed.
The recruitment will cover 2,247 teachers from the 2022 backlog and an additional 17,478 teachers who completed their training in 2023.
The online application portal, https://www.gespromotions.com, will open for submissions on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, at 12:00 noon.
Prospective applicants have until Friday, 28th November 2025, at 6:00 pm to complete and submit their forms.
In a strong warning to the public, the GES emphasised that the recruitment process is "very transparent" and free of charge.
The service explicitly cautioned applicants to be wary of individuals who might solicit money with promises of assistance, stating that any such payments are made at the applicant's own risk.
The announcement was signed by Ms. Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, Director of the Human Resource Management Directorate, on behalf of the Ag. Director-General.
This recruitment drive marks a critical step in addressing teacher shortages and fulfilling the government's commitments to employment within the education sector, promising to inject thousands of qualified professionals into public schools across the nation.
