The Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak-Muntaka, has visited the Ghana Prisons Service Training School screening centre in Accra to assess the ongoing recruitment exercise and ensure strict adherence to approved procedures.

During the visit, the Minister reassured applicants that the recruitment process is transparent, fair and strictly merit-based.

He urged prospective recruits to follow laid-down procedures and cautioned against any attempts to circumvent the system.

Mr. Mubarak-Muntaka issued a strong warning to applicants against dealing with fraudulent middlemen who promise recruitment in exchange for money.

He stressed that such claims are false and illegal, adding that anyone found engaging in or facilitating such practices will be arrested and prosecuted.

To curb fraud and enhance accountability, the Minister disclosed that a centralised payment and tracking system has been introduced as part of reforms to the recruitment process.

He explained that the new system is designed to eliminate human interference and reduce opportunities for corruption.

The Interior Minister further revealed that enhanced monitoring mechanisms have been deployed to safeguard the integrity of the exercise, with oversight from key security agencies.

He noted that these measures are intended to ensure fairness and public confidence in the recruitment process.

Mr. Mubarak-Muntaka commended officials at the screening centre for the smooth and orderly conduct of the exercise and encouraged applicants to remain disciplined, patient and law-abiding throughout the process.
