V/R: Reg Min Gunu reaffirms gov't commitment to creating jobs for youth, urges proactiveness
The Volta Regional Minister James Gunu has reaffirmed government's commitment and efforts to creating job opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
Speaking to the youth of Ave-Dakpa in the Akatsi North district of the Volta region, he said government's initiatives on skills training, job creation, and youth empowerment under the John Mahama-led administration was aimed at improving the standard of living for all Ghanaians. He encouraged the youth, in view of this, to position themselves for the opportunities ahead.
"President Mahama is creating an enabling environment for all Ghanaians through creation of job opportunities at the various sectors. Among them, are the security services, agric sector, education, just to mention few, and it is important that you position yourself to grab the opportunities," he emphasised.
"As your regional minister and the former DCE for this district, I will continue to pursue the resetting agenda of the president and ensure the Volta region gets it's share of development and better living standard for all," he reaffirmed.
The regional minister engaged the youth on his way to Dzodze for an official assignment.
He also encouraged them to own the road infrastructure-focused Big Push programme, support the contractors in their area, and report to the authority any action by anyone to steal materials.
The minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the youth for their enthusiasm, reflecting the bright future of the Volta region.
Meanwhile, the youth used the opportunity to congratulate the minister on his selfless dedication to building and developing the region, describing him as the best regional minister the region had ever produced.
They pledged their support for the minister, urging him to continue to develop the region and create opportunities for the youth.
Mr James Gunu's audience included motor riders, keke drivers, and other youth.
