The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has seized 140 boxes of alcoholic drinks mixed with stimulants in the Upper East Region.

According to the FDA, the seized products included Bel Ice Vodka Energy Drink and Cody’s Vody Energy Mix.

The authority stated that the products are banned in Ghana due to the health risks associated with mixing alcohol and stimulants.

In a public notice shared on its Facebook page, the FDA explained that such drinks can mask intoxication, which may lead to excessive alcohol consumption and other health complications.

The FDA warned consumers against purchasing or consuming the products and reiterated its commitment to protecting public health and safety.

“The FDA is working for your safety,” the authority stated in the post.

The authority further urged the public to remain vigilant and report banned or unregistered products on the market.
