Bawumia concludes Ashanti Region engagements, courts support for 2028 NPP flagbearership bid

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has concluded a three-day engagement with party stakeholders in the Ashanti Region as part of his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections.
The meetings, which ended on Friday, brought together constituency executives, the Regional Council of Elders, and other party stakeholders.
Dr. Bawumia urged delegates to consider his record of innovative policies and commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Ghanaians as compelling reasons to endorse his candidacy.
Reaffirming his call for unity within the NPP, he appealed to delegates to back him in the party’s flagbearership election scheduled for January 31, 2026.
He described himself as the “most prepared, formidable, and winnable candidate” to secure victory for the party in 2028.
