Chairman General storms Awutu Senya East over NDC internal crisis
The Awutu Senya East Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to host the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, in a special engagement scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The event, which is expected to bring together party executives, Members of Parliament, Municipal Chief Executives and grassroots supporters, will take place at the Transformational Temple of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), located on the New Market Road, just behind the I See Building.
Proceedings are slated to begin at 10:00 GMT.
Leading the reception will be the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunor, alongside other constituency and regional executives.
Other party officials expected to attend include Hon. Seth Sabbah, Hon. Stephen Ofosu, Seworni Obanini Agyare and several local leaders.
The visit forms part of the National Chairman’s ongoing engagements with party structures across the country aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and deepening unity within the NDC ahead of upcoming political activities.
Organisers say the programme will provide an opportunity for interaction between the national leadership and constituency members while reinforcing the party’s organisational base in the area.
The Awutu Senya East Constituency has plague with some internal bickering between the supporters of the MP and the Constituency Chairman.
Already the Constitueny Chairman has declared his intent to contest the sitting MP if the party opens nominations.
Last week there arrest of some branch executives over comments made on the party's whatsapp platform against the MP
