Dec. 7 Polls: Ho municipal Police Command assures residents of security measures
The second in command at the Ho Municipal Police, ASP Seidu Kodua, has reassured residents of the Volta Region and all Ghanaians of the police's unwavering commitment to ensuring a peaceful election on December 7.
Speaking during a peace campaign launched by The Church of Pentecost in Ho, ASP Kodua outlined the extensive measures the police have implemented to guarantee security during the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
"We have put measures in place as far as election security is concerned to ensure a peaceful process," he stated, emphasising the police's readiness to protect every ballot and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
He affirmed that the Police Administration would continue to engage with the Electoral Commission (EC) and all political parties to foster a non-violent environment leading up to the elections.
ASP Kodua appealed to all Ghanaians to embrace peace and refrain from any actions that could lead to violence.
"The police are prepared to arrest anyone who tries to disturb the peace of the country before, during, and after the general election," he warned.
He also urged the Electoral Commission to prioritise national peace by conducting a free and fair election, enabling Ghanaians to continue enjoying stability without fear of violence or unrest.
