Ghanaians experiencing shifting voter behaviour – Independent MP-elect
The Member of Parliament-elect for Asante Akyem North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Ohene Kwame Frimpong, has asserted that no parliamentary seat in Ghana is secure anymore, citing the 2024 election results as a testament to shifting voter behaviour.
“Ghanaian voters are now enlightened and sophisticated.
Nobody can deceive any voter,” Mr. Frimpong remarked.
Running as an independent candidate, Mr. Frimpong emphasized his commitment to serving the will of his constituents.
“I will only accept a position from the incoming government if the people of Asante Akyem North approve it.
Every decision I make concerning the constituency will involve consultation with my people,” he pledged.
The MP-elect underscored the importance of accountability and respecting the electorate's decisions.
“I will always be accountable to the people of Asante Akyem North and respect their decisions.
My footprints are all over the constituency, and I have earned the support of both NPP and NDC members,” he stated.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Frimpong explained that his motivation stems from a desire to challenge himself and deliver for his constituents.
“This victory has strengthened my resolve to serve and deliver for the people of Asante Akyem North,” he concluded.
