Independent aspirant Abraham Aidoo promises leadership that listens at Kpone Katamanso
The aspiring Independent Parliamentary Candidate for the Kpone Katamanso Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Abraham Aidoo, has declared that while the constituency is rich in strength, resilience, and promise, its full potential has remained largely untapped over the years due to what he describes as a disconnect between leadership and the lived realities of residents.
Speaking on his vision for the constituency, Mr. Aidoo noted that many residents continue to grapple with basic challenges despite their hard work and determination.
He pointed to persistent difficulties in accessing clean water in several communities, unreliable electricity—particularly in Apollonia, where an overloaded transformer affects homes, businesses, and students—poor road networks, limited healthcare access, and high youth unemployment.
He also expressed concern over the fact that the constituency has only one senior high school, a situation he says continues to limit opportunities for young people.
According to Mr. Aidoo, these challenges are not abstract political issues but everyday experiences for families across Kpone Katamanso.
He said his decision to contest as an independent candidate is driven by the need for leadership that listens, understands, and acts in the interest of the people rather than partisan considerations.
Describing his approach as one rooted in service, Mr. Aidoo—also known as Bishop Abraham Aidoo—said his vision focuses on restoring dignity to everyday life through reliable water supply, stable electricity, accessible healthcare, quality education, and sustainable job creation for the youth.
He highlighted that his commitment to the constituency predates his political ambition, citing his role in training more than 200 residents in practical, income-generating skills across communities such as Kpone Township and Apollonia.
He said these initiatives have already helped families become self-reliant and offered hope to young people seeking livelihoods.
Mr. Aidoo explained that his campaign strategy will prioritise grassroots engagement through door-to-door interactions, small community meetings, market visits, and youth gatherings, rather than relying solely on rallies and posters.
He said the goal is to listen to residents and tailor solutions to the specific needs of each community.
As part of this approach, the campaign plans to appoint community ambassadors—trusted local figures who will help mobilise residents, share feedback, and ensure constant engagement at the grassroots.
Youth, he added, will play a central role as campaign messengers and leaders through skills programmes, sports, and community service initiatives.
The campaign’s central message, Mr. Aidoo said, is “Leadership that listens, acts, and stays with the people,” underpinned by commitments to water security, stable electricity, improved healthcare, expanded educational opportunities, job creation, and better infrastructure such as markets, roads, and recreational facilities.
Running as an independent, Mr. Aidoo stressed that his focus is on putting people first and building trust through action rather than promises.
He described his bid as more than a quest for votes, but a movement aimed at restoring dignity and hope across Kpone Katamanso.
He called on residents to unite behind a shared vision of inclusive development, saying that with collective effort, the constituency can be transformed into a stronger and more prosperous community.
